Ideas & Concept
Creating our candles is no swift endeavor. We invest considerable time in the initial creative process, aiming for each candle to be more than a mere product. We strive for every candle to narrate a tale, stir emotions, and tug at heartstrings – a mission we don't take lightly. If a candle doesn't evoke a story, emotion, or heartfelt response, it's back to the drawing board.
Moreover, teamwork is at our core. We operate as a collective unit, ensuring unanimous agreement on the narrative and concept proposed before moving forward. This collaborative spirit defines our creative process. If an idea doesn’t resonate with each one of us, it doesn’t proceed.

While we jest that if Apollo isn’t pleased, nothing passes (of course, we all appreciate creative freedom, but as artists, excellence is our common goal), the truth is, his discerning eye and passion for the craft drive us to bring you the very best of our work.
Design
Once we've settled on a candle concept that resonates with all of us, it's time for our artists to work their magic. While Apollo, Ray, and Colin primarily curate the art, the entire team's constructive criticism is invaluable. We also eagerly seek input from our customers, especially our loyal patrons with whom we regularly discuss new candle concepts. Their perspective on the art is not just valuable; it's essential.
In our creative process, we blend traditional methods with modern technology. Hand sketches, iPad, and Photoshop all have their roles, as does the raw power of imagination, which we later translate onto paper. Multiple drafts are a norm for us; each concept undergoes numerous revisions before we unveil the final art. So rest assured, the Apollo team is dedicated to delivering you nothing short of their best.

Scents
Now, let's dive into my favorite phase of the process. Once the concept gains approval and the art has been meticulously drawn, it's time for the thrilling task of harmonizing the art and story with the perfect scent, delivering you a complete synesthetic experience. Stepping into the scent room is like stepping into a realm of endless possibilities; we often have no preconceived notion of what the scent might entail. The process involves countless hours of mixing, diluting, and testing potential scents until we find the one that seamlessly aligns with the concept.
This aromatic alchemy can be an adventure that spans hours, days, or even weeks. Here's a fun tidbit: the scent for "Broken Record" was only finalized after Apollo discovered that it resonated with his morning coffee ritual at his grandma's house. It might sound like an unusual combination, but it's the kind of quirky harmony that brings him immense joy. After all, in the pursuit of crafting your perfect sensory experience, we're willing to explore the unexpected!

Our commitment to quality starts with the basics. We use 100% natural soy wax, completely devoid of any additives or extraneous ingredients.
